The most usable free beach in Dubai: soft sand, clean water, changing rooms, showers, a 14 km running track and a strip of food trucks behind it. Burj Al Arab sits in the background of every photo.
What it costs: free. Parking is paid at peak times.
Our advice: go late afternoon. Between June and September the sand is genuinely too hot to walk on until around 5pm.
