About MyGuide AE
MyGuide AE is an independent guide to the United Arab Emirates — written for the people who actually have to decide where to eat on Thursday night, which desert safari is worth the money, and whether that attraction everyone photographs is worth two hours of a short trip.
Why we started this
Search for almost anything about Dubai and you get one of two things: a tourism board page that will never tell you something is overpriced, or a listicle assembled by someone who has never stood in the queue. Prices are years out of date. Opening hours are wrong. Nobody mentions that the “free” beach has paid parking.
We started MyGuide AE in August 2026 to fix a narrow, specific version of that problem: practical, current, honest information about the UAE, in both English and Arabic.
What we cover
Our directory covers all seven emirates, while our editorial guides currently focus on Dubai. A directory record is not an editorial recommendation: places we have not visited are labelled. We cover:
- Attractions — real ticket prices in dirhams, honest verdicts on whether something is worth it
- Restaurants and cafés — from AED 15 shawarma to the tasting menus
- Practical guides — visas, the Metro and Nol card, getting in from DXB, where to stay
- Itineraries — for three days, five days, or an eight-hour layover
- Events — Global Village, Dubai Shopping Festival, Ramadan timings, and what they actually cost
Both languages, properly
We publish in English and Arabic. Coverage differs while translations are added, so the number of available places and guides may change when you switch language.
How we make money
We are upfront about this. MyGuide AE earns through display advertising and affiliate commissions — if you book a tour or a hotel through some of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Business submissions to our directory are free.
None of that buys a good review. We do not charge for editorial reviews or a better directory position. Businesses do not control our editorial verdicts. Our full Editorial Policy explains exactly how we draw that line.
We get things wrong sometimes
Prices change. Venues close. An attraction changes its opening hours the week after we publish. If you find something out of date or simply wrong, tell us — corrections are the fastest way this site gets better. Email [email protected] and we will fix it and note the update.
