Beaches

Which stretches of UAE sand are free, which charge, and what the charge buys. The public beaches — Kite Beach, Sunset Beach, JBR, Al Mamzar, the Ajman and Umm Al Quwain corniches — cost nothing and mostly have showers, lifeguards and parking. Beach clubs charge a day rate that usually includes a sunbed and a food-and-drink credit, and hotel pool passes are a third category again. Entries state which one a place is, whether there is shade, whether the water is calm, and the months when the sea is comfortable — because between June and September the sea itself gets uncomfortably warm.
