Jumeirah Beach Residence is the beachfront strip at the seaward end of Dubai Marina, and it is the easiest stretch of sand in the city to use without paying for anything. The public beach runs the length of it with showers, lifeguards and a running track; The Beach is the low-rise open-air mall behind the sand; The Walk is the older promenade one street back, lined with cafes and shisha terraces. Bluewaters Island, and Ain Dubai on it, sit directly across a footbridge from the north end. The Dubai Tram stops at JBR 1 and JBR 2 and connects to the Red Line Metro at Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Dubai Marina, which makes JBR reachable without a car — one of the few beach areas in Dubai where that is true.
