Questions & Answers

Is brunch in Dubai worth it?

Once, yes — it is a genuine part of Dubai life. But a brunch day rarely lands under AED 500 per person once taxis and service charge are counted.

Once, yes. It is a genuine part of Dubai life and nothing else replicates it. Weekly, it becomes an expensive habit — and as a meal you are paying several times over for food you could eat better elsewhere.

What you are actually buying

Not lunch. A three-to-four hour Saturday sitting with unlimited food and, at most venues, unlimited drinks, for one fixed price. It is a social event with a menu attached, and judging it as a restaurant meal is the mistake that makes people feel cheated.

What a day of it really costs

  • Mid-tier brunch with house drinks — AED 350–450 per person
  • Taxis both ways — AED 80–150
  • The post-brunch bar, if you stay — AED 200+

Add service charge and municipality fee, and a brunch day rarely lands under AED 500 per person. That is the number to judge it against, not the headline price.

When it is worth it

  • A group. The format is built around a table of people; alone it is awkward.
  • A specific occasion. The premium tier — champagne, seafood towers, a Burj Khalifa view — makes sense for something being celebrated.
  • Your one Dubai indulgence. If you are spending on exactly one thing, this is a more distinctive choice than an expensive dinner.

When to skip it

If you do not drink, most of the price is a package you will not use — take the soft-drinks tier or skip it entirely. If you want the food to be the point, the same money buys several outstanding meals in Karama or Deira: see eating well for under AED 30.

If you go

Aim for the AED 300–450 tier — that is where most Dubai brunches sit and where the experience is. Decide first whether you want a long lunch or an afternoon party, because they are very different rooms and the menu rarely tells you which. Book direct, and book ahead: the good ones fill a week out.

The tiers, the areas and the five rules for choosing well are in how brunch in Dubai works.
