Base Wireless

Base Wireless FZCO is a trading company in Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZA) that buys, grades, stores and resells used and new mobile phones, as well as iPads and watches. It works mainly with businesses, such as retailers that run trade-in or lease programmes, rather than with walk-in shoppers.

What the company does

The company’s website describes it as a stockist, wholesaler and distributor of used and new phones in the Middle East, with resale through partner channels abroad. It lists these services:

• Evaluation and pricing: checking a device’s condition, pricing it against live market feeds, and checking whether a customer is eligible for trade-in and lease programmes.
• Inspection: automated tests, manual review and quality control.
• Data sanitising: wiping devices and shredding SIM and memory cards.
• Receiving: matching incoming shipments to records, with serial-number tracking.
• Warehousing: stock sorted by grade, with inventory management.
• Resale and recycling: international resale through outsourced partners, and recycling of devices that cannot be repaired.

How the process works

The website sets out four steps: an evaluation that guides the trade-in, pricing based on the market, credit and programme options for the customer, and resale through partner channels. It does not publish prices, minimum order quantities or a retail buying procedure.
