A famously unglamorous fish shack near Umm Suqeim beach. You choose from what came in that morning, it goes into the fryer with a masala coating, and you eat it at a plastic table outside.
What it costs: roughly AED 40–60 for a full plate with rice and bread.
Our advice: there will be a queue and it moves slowly. Come early evening, not at peak dinner time, and bring cash.
