Souk Madinat Jumeirah

Souk Madinat Jumeirah is a shopping and dining destination built as a traditional-style Arabian market inside the Madinat Jumeirah resort, just south of Burj Al Arab in Dubai. It is for visitors and residents who want souvenir and gift shopping, waterfront restaurants and an evening out in one place.

What is there

The souk’s own site describes about 60 retail outlets in covered lanes, selling items such as jewellery, perfumes, spices, local handicrafts and souvenirs, and more than 20 restaurants and cafés, most of them with views of the waterways and Burj Al Arab. Its FAQ also mentions abra tours on the waterways and the Theatre of Digital Art, which shows digital art presentations.

Getting there and parking

• Metro: the nearest station is Mall of the Emirates. The souk suggests a short taxi or ride-hailing trip from there.
• Taxi: taxis can be booked on +971 4 208 0808.
• Parking: underground parking costs AED 20 per hour, up to AED 200 for 24 hours, and is open around the clock. Spending AED 100 or more at a participating outlet gives three hours of free parking.

• The souk is wheelchair accessible through the main entrance lift; wheelchairs are available at the Mall Management offices.
• Prayer rooms are on the ground floor.
