Ting Irie
About Ting Irie
Ting Irie is a Jamaican and Caribbean restaurant and lounge at Mamsha Al Saadiyat in the Saadiyat Cultural District, Abu Dhabi. It is for diners who want Jamaican food such as jerk chicken, oxtail and curry goat, with reggae and dancehall music, at a beachfront promenade on Saadiyat Island.
About the restaurant
Ting Irie opened in Downtown Dubai in early 2016 and opened its Abu Dhabi branch at Mamsha Al Saadiyat in 2021. The kitchen serves traditional Jamaican dishes with modern touches, with some Middle Eastern, Chinese and Italian influences. The restaurant says it imports Caribbean ingredients such as ackee, Scotch bonnet peppers and island spices from Jamaica, and buys meat and vegetables from local producers.
On the menu
- Buns: doubles buns with curried chickpeas, oxtail buns with coleslaw, crispy chicken buns and a warm lobster roll.
- Small plates: crispy chicken, fish or shrimp bites with fries, oxtail arancini, corn ribs with jerk mayo, Caribbean pepper shrimps and a fried chicken bucket.
- Jamaican patties with fillings such as oxtail, curry goat, ackee and saltfish, and callaloo.
The website also explains “Ital”, the vegetarian tradition linked to Rastafarian culture in Jamaica, but it does not mark which dishes are vegetarian. Prices are not shown on the home page; the full menu is on the website’s menu page.
