Questions & Answers

How much does it cost to go up Burj Khalifa?

From AED 179 online at a quiet hour to AED 600+ for the top lounge. Sunset slots cost about double for the same view.

From AED 179 for the standard ticket booked online at a quiet hour, to AED 600 and up for the highest lounge. The same view can cost you double or half depending on one choice, and it is not the floor you pick.

The three tickets

  • At the Top, levels 124 and 125from AED 179. Indoor and outdoor viewing, with a smaller upper deck. This is the one most people should buy.
  • At the Top SKY, level 148roughly AED 400–550. Higher, quieter, with a lounge and a separate faster entrance, and it includes 124 and 125 afterwards.
  • The Lounge, levels 152 to 154roughly AED 600+. Sold as a seated experience with food and drink rather than a viewing deck.

Where the money actually goes

Every time slot is priced as either prime or non-prime. Prime is roughly sunset, and it costs about double.

Non-prime is early morning and late evening. It is the same building and the same view — what you are paying extra for is the light.

The two ways people overpay

  1. Buying at the counter on the day. Walk-up pricing is substantially higher than online, and the good slots are already gone.
  2. Third-party resellers charging a markup over the official site for exactly the same ticket.

What else it costs you

Allow about 90 minutes door to door — security, the queue, the lift, and thirty to forty minutes on the decks. Children aged 4 to 12 pay a reduced rate and under-4s are usually free.

And the Metro is not as close as it looks: Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station is a 15-minute covered walk from the mall, with the entrance on the lower ground floor.

The free version of the same view

If the ticket is the part of your budget you would rather not spend, the view of the tower from Burj Park costs nothing and is the photograph most people actually wanted. The Dubai Fountain below it is free too, every 30 minutes through the evening. Dubai Frame costs about a third as much for a different but genuinely good view.

Our full breakdown — which slot to book, how far ahead, and what the upper decks are really like — is in the Burj Khalifa ticket guide, and the venue page is here.
