Is there a Metro to Palm Jumeirah?

No. The Dubai Metro does not go onto Palm Jumeirah. Take the Red Line to Nakheel or DMCC and a taxi from there — that is what residents do, and it is faster than the alternative.

What actually connects the Palm

The Palm Monorail runs along the trunk from Gateway station near the base up to Atlantis. It is a separate system: it does not accept the Nol card, it is slow, and the service is infrequent enough that waiting for it often costs more time than the taxi it replaces.

For most visitors it is a novelty rather than transport. If you are going to Atlantis or Aquaventure with luggage, bags or children, take a taxi.

The practical route

1. Red Line to Nakheel or DMCC / Sobha Realty — AED 3–7.50
2. Taxi from the station onto the Palm — usually a short, cheap hop

Why this matters when choosing a hotel

Palm Jumeirah is a genuinely lovely place to stay for a resort holiday where you barely leave the hotel. It is a poor choice if you plan to sightsee: you will need a taxi for absolutely everything, and getting on and off the Palm at busy times is slow.

One thing on the Palm that is free

The Palm Jumeirah boardwalk — an 11 km walk at sea level around the outer crescent, looking back at the Marina skyline. Free, open all day, best at sunset. You only need a stretch of it.
