Choose Etihad for the story of the federation

Etihad Museum is a focused choice when you want to understand how the UAE came together, rather than browse a broad collection of ancient objects. The official visit page centres on the federation and the period 1968–1974. Give your visit one guiding question: what had to change for separate emirates to become one state?

Start with the pre-union context, follow the sequence of negotiations, then finish with the constitution. Compare the dates and decisions rather than trying to read every label. The museum’s published sections include an interactive map, founding leaders and constitutional material. For children, turn the route into a small investigation: find one decision, one document and one change that followed the union. That exercise is our suggested way to explore, not an official children’s session.

Entry budget and the closing deadline

The live visit page lists AED 25 for an adult and AED 10 for a student. Two adults and two visitors accepted under the student category therefore total AED 70:25+25+10+10. Allow separate money for transport, food and purchases. Bring the relevant evidence for a concession; do not assume every child is automatically a student-ticket holder.

The page also lists a free child category without stating its age boundary in the text read. We therefore do not assign a made-up age limit. Ordinary hours are 10:00–20:00, with last entry 19:00. Last entry is an admission deadline, not a recommended arrival time for a complete visit. Leave enough time for the part of the story that interests you.

Arrival and questions worth asking

The published address is Jumeira Street at its intersection with 2 nd December Street. Use that exact destination for a taxi or route search, including the return journey. Do not assume a metro stop is at the entrance or that a quoted walking time suits your group.

Ask the general museum contact whether a guided tour is available in your preferred language and whether it is included in your ticket. If you want a particular historical building or temporary exhibition, name it explicitly. A general admission description does not settle every extra service.
