Masdar City Central Park

Masdar City Central Park is a public park in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, built around sustainability. Masdar opened it in January 2020 with a storytelling stage, a children’s playground, urban farming areas and food and drink outlets. It suits families with children and anyone curious about water-saving and green design in a city setting.

What is in the park

• Water tower: Visit Abu Dhabi describes a landmark tower that collects humidity from the air to add to the park’s water-efficient irrigation system, which feeds the urban farming areas.
• Green walls and climbers: used to grow herbs, fruit and vegetables.
• Children’s playground.
• Storytelling stage: named by Masdar as one of the park’s educational elements.
• Food and drink outlets, listed in Masdar’s 2020 announcement.

Opening hours

When the park opened, Masdar announced that it would be open seven days a week from 9 AM to 11 PM. That announcement dates from 16 January 2020, and Visit Abu Dhabi’s current page does not give hours or an entry fee, so check before a late-evening visit. The park opened with The Festival, a free community event held there from 16 to 18 January 2020.

Not the same as Masdar Park

Masdar City also has a separate park called Masdar Park. In the same 2020 announcement Masdar listed the BOUNCE trampoline park, a planetarium dome, outlets in recycled shipping containers, basketball courts, football pitches and the 5.6 km Al Mamsha running and walking trail under Masdar Park, not Central Park. If those facilities are the reason for your trip, make sure you head to the right park.

Getting there

Visit Abu Dhabi notes that Masdar City is close to Zayed International Airport. Neither official page gives parking or public transport details for the park.

Good to know

• The water tower and the urban farming areas are the park’s main sustainability features.
• The published hours (9 AM to 11 PM daily) are from 2020.
• Sports courts, pitches and the Al Mamsha trail belong to Masdar Park, a different park in Masdar City.
• Masdar City’s own parks page was not loading on 17 October 2026.
