About The Dubai Mall
The Dubai Mall is a large shopping and leisure centre in Downtown Dubai, developed by Emaar. It is for shoppers, families and visitors who want shops, restaurants and attractions such as the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo in one building. Entry to the mall itself is free.
What is inside
The mall’s own website names several areas: Fashion Avenue, which it describes as home to more than 200 luxury brands; Chinatown on the first floor, opposite the Dubai Ice Rink; Fountain Views; and Souk Al Bahar. The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo has a 10 m acrylic viewing panel. Session times for Reel Cinemas are published on the cinema’s own site.

Parking
According to the mall’s parking FAQ, the Grand, Cinema and Fashion car parks are paid: the first 4 hours are free from Monday to Thursday and the first 6 hours are free from Friday to Sunday, with charges rising for each extra hour. Payment is taken from your Salik account, so the car needs an activated Salik tag; this also applies to tourists and foreign plates. Parking at Zabeel and Fountain Views is free. A shopping receipt does not add free time, and no SMS warning is sent before the free period ends.

Good to know
- House rules on the official site: a courtesy dress code, no pets, and smoking only in designated areas.
- Services listed include eight guest service desks, free Wi-Fi, prayer rooms for men and women, wheelchairs, baby strollers, children’s wristbands and baby changing rooms.
- The Concierge Lounge offers porter service and lockers, and valet parking is available (it is not part of the paid-parking scheme).
