About Sharjah Aquarium

Sharjah Aquarium in Al Khan offers a marine-life visit that can be paired with the adjacent Maritime Museum. The joint ticket makes the decision about two different interests: underwater habitats and Sharjah’s relationship with the sea. Build the outing around what your group wants to learn rather than trying to see every tank quickly.

Joint ticket and an honest family total

The authority lists AED 25 for ages 13+, AED 15 for ages 2–12 and free entry below age two. Thus two adults and two children aged 6 and 10 total AED 80 for the joint ticket: 2×25 + 2×15. That calculation excludes meals and transport and assumes ordinary paid admission rather than an exemption day.

Bring evidence if claiming a listed exemption. Do not buy an extra Maritime Museum ticket simply because it is a second building: check that the product is the joint ticket. Equally, including two venues does not establish identical opening hours or unrestricted re-entry. Ask about the second venue’s operating status before allocating the whole afternoon.

Choose a day for more than the displays

Regular aquarium hours are Saturday–Thursday 8 am–8 pm and Friday 4–8 pm. The authority lists shark feeding Saturday, Monday and Wednesday at 1–1:30 pm. If this is your priority, choose one of those days and build arrival time around it; confirm the programme on the day rather than promising a show in advance.

Our suggested visit has three stages: select one habitat to examine closely, compare how fish use that environment, then relate the displays to objects in the Maritime Museum. Children can prepare a question about movement or habitat and look for an answer in the labels. Add a workshop only if its age group and actual session fit; the listed drop-ins target ages 6–12.

Practical arrival checks

Navigate to Al Khan Old, not a general Sharjah city pin, and save your return pickup point. The site lists parking, lifts, changing facilities and wheelchair access. These listings help you prepare questions about a specific access need but are not a personal accessibility inspection. Ramadan hours and religious-holiday closures differ from the regular table; check the calendar before travel, especially around Eid.
