Questions & Answers
Is Dubai too hot in October?
The first half yes, the second half no. Aim for the last ten days and you get the season's weather at the shoulder's price — and Global Village has just opened.
The first half, yes. The second half, no — and that two-week difference is the single most useful thing to know about booking October. Aim for the last ten days of the month and you get the season’s weather at the shoulder’s price.
How October actually splits
- Early October — still hot, mid to high 30s, with humidity that has not broken yet. Outdoor sightseeing is an early-morning-and-evening activity.
- Late October — very pleasant. This is the start of the good half of the year, and daytime becomes comfortable rather than something to be planned around.
Why late October is the smart booking
October and April are the best value in the Dubai year and are consistently underrated. Prices drop noticeably from the November-to-March peak, the crowds thin out, and by the end of October the weather is close to what the peak season is charging for.
Two things also come back at the end of the month: Global Village typically opens in mid-to-late October, and Miracle Garden around October or November. Both are closed all summer, so a late-October trip catches them at the start of the season with the smallest crowds they will have.
If your dates are early October
The trip still works — it just needs the summer shape: outdoors before 09:00 and after 18:00, indoors in between. Beaches are fine early and late in the day; the sand is still too hot to walk on barefoot until evening. See what to do in Dubai in summer.
The one-line answer
If you can move your dates, move them to the second half of October. If you cannot, come anyway and plan around the middle of the day.
The month-by-month picture, including when Ramadan falls and when the city is most crowded, is in the best time to visit Dubai.
