Buhais Geology Park
About Buhais Geology Park
Use geology to explain the landscape
Buhais Geology Park is an Environment and Protected Areas Authority destination in Al Madam, Sharjah. Its subject is the geological development of the region, including marine fossils and ophiolite rock, alongside archaeological evidence. Choose it to understand how rock, landform and human occupation tell different parts of a landscape’s history.
Begin with an explanation of a rock or fossil, then ask how it relates to the ground around the visitor centre. A marine fossil is evidence about an earlier environment, not a human-made object; archaeological evidence answers a different question about people. With children, compare those two types of evidence rather than trying to memorise every large age figure.
Use the actual age category in the budget
The live operator page lists free entry for children below 13 and AED 15 for ages 13 and above. Two adults with children aged 6 and 10 therefore have a published admission total of AED 30. If one child is 13, that same group totals AED 45. These are entry calculations, excluding transport and food, and use explicitly different categories at the age boundary.
The separate school and higher-education rates require prior reservation. They are not a cheaper walk-in ticket for a family. Choose the public visitor category unless you are arranging the corresponding educational visit through its own conditions.
Tuesday closure and the shorter Friday window
The operator lists Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9 am–7:30 pm; Friday 2 pm–7:30 pm; Saturday 11 am–7:30 pm. Tuesday is closed. A Friday morning arrival or Tuesday detour therefore does not fit the published public timetable.
Read the indoor interpretation before deciding on any permitted outdoor route. No current guided departure or all-route access was established, and the existence of fossils does not grant permission to collect specimens. Pick an arrival and return plan for the Al Madam destination rather than assuming a city-centre transfer time.
For public visitor questions, the operator lists +97168012100 and [email protected]. The separate educational reservation contact is not the same function. No last-entry time, senior exemption or current transport timetable was verified beyond the operator information cited here.
