About Sharjah Archeological Museum — Halwan

Read objects as evidence of earlier life

Sharjah Archaeology Museum is in Al Abar. Its published collection spans earlier settlement and daily life, making it a focused choice for visitors interested in what objects reveal about the people who used them. Choose a question such as how people worked, traded or built homes, and follow it across the displays.

Instead of counting every object, compare two examples that answer the same question. Look at the material, shape and explanation, then ask what can actually be inferred from the evidence. With children, distinguish what the label says from what you imagine. This is a suggested observation exercise and does not require an organised activity or permission to handle an artefact.

Standalone entry or the science combination?

The authority publishes AED 10 for ages 13+, AED 5 for ages 2–12 and free under 2 for this museum alone. Two adults with children aged 6 and 10 therefore calculate to AED 30. The joint Science and Archaeology ticket is AED 25 and AED 15 in the same paid age bands, giving AED 80 for that group.

The difference is AED 50. Choose the joint ticket if you want the science visit as well and have time to use it under the ticket’s actual validity rules. If archaeology is your only aim, the standalone option keeps the admission calculation at AED 30. Neither calculation includes transport, food or separately charged activities. Do not assume the joint ticket can be used on different days without confirmation.

Children’s areas and the visit window

The Little Archaeologist Hall is described for ages 5–12. That programme boundary differs from the child ticket category. Ask about the hall and family activity availability when planning a visit around a particular child’s interest; its published description does not guarantee a session or working interactive on your day.

Normal hours are 08:00–20:00 Saturday–Thursday and 16:00–20:00 Friday; Ramadan uses separate hours and Friday closure. Use the museum’s location rather than a generic Halwan area label when arranging your route. If you are combining museums, finish one chosen theme before moving on instead of giving both a rushed visit. We have reviewed published visitor information, not tested admission, inspected every display or surveyed a step-free route.
