Emerging City
About Emerging City
Emerging City is an exhibition section of Al Shindagha Museum, the heritage museum run by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority in the historic Al Shindagha neighbourhood on Dubai Creek. It is introduced through the Juma & Obaid bin Thani House, which sets out the cultural, economic and historical foundations of Dubai's growth. The upper floor of the house examines the city's urban and economic development across the 1800s and 1900s, while smaller neighbouring houses present short displays on stages of Dubai's urban progression. The section follows the evolution of the emirate's built environment, from traditional buildings to modern structures, and gives attention to the lasting importance of the Shindagha district. Entry is with an Al Shindagha Museum ticket; the museum opens daily from 10am to 8pm.
Opening hours (as published by the business): Daily 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM (last entry 7:00 PM), as part of Al Shindagha Museum
