About Crossroad of Civilizations Museum
Follow one object across a trade route
Crossroads of Civilizations Museum is part of a museum group based around Sheikh Hasher Al Maktoum House on Al Khaleej Road in Dubai. Its theme is the movement of people, goods and ideas between cultures. The group also includes rare books, manuscripts and prints, and an armory department.
Choose one object and ask where it was made, what its label says about its use, and why it matters in a place connected to trade. Separate the object’s evidence from a broad story about tolerance or exchange. A museum’s interpretation is useful context, but it is not independent authentication of every date or provenance claim.

Choose a general collection or a specialist department
Someone interested mainly in maps or handwritten texts may prefer the Rare Books department, while a general visit can focus on objects from different societies. Agree the focus before trying to see every section. The documentation office and library are not automatically a public reading appointment or permission to handle rare originals.
For children, select an object whose task they can explain and compare it with a modern equivalent. The operator describes a children’s trail and group educational arrangements; a special visit outside ordinary hours needs arrangement, not an assumption that every family has an automatic extended session.
Published fare and conflicting operating information
The English Visit page lists AED 25 per person and free entry for children under 7. Two adults with children aged 6 and 10 would total AED 75 at those stated categories. This is the English page’s admission example, not a confirmed quote for every department or programme. Other translated blocks show AED 30 and describe three-museum coverage; the English fee block does not state the same inclusion. Confirm which current ticket applies before paying.
The English home and Visit pages publish all days 9 am–8 pm; other language blocks retain 8 am–8 pm Saturday–Thursday and Friday closure. No consistent full weekly schedule can be guaranteed from that conflict. In particular, confirm Friday instead of assuming either opening or closure.
Use the published visitor contact +97143934440 or [email protected] and the Al Khaleej location. Group rates, access needs and after-hours programmes have their own arrangements.
For the specialist collection, see Rare Books, Manuscripts and Prints department.
