About Perfume House

Visit the Al Shindagha house, not an unrelated perfume attraction

Perfume House belongs to Al Shindagha Museum’s Creativity and Well-Being pavilion. Its focus is Emirati fragrance traditions: techniques for scented oils and perfume, and the place of scent in everyday and cultural life. The existing museum identity matters when locating it or buying admission.

Use the displays to separate an ingredient, a technique and a social use. What gives a fragrance its character, how was it prepared, and when was it used? This turns a sensory subject into a cultural visit rather than a search for a perfume shop. It does not mean every display permits touching, smelling a sample or mixing your own fragrance.

Choose the experience your group actually wants

If you want to make a perfume or incense object, look for a current dated workshop with its own eligibility and booking conditions. General museum entry alone does not promise a blending class, take-home item or live demonstration. Historic event schedules cannot establish what is running today.

For a display-based visit, compare fragrance with a textile or household craft at Traditional Craft House: both use materials, but their functions and cultural meaning differ. With children, ask them to distinguish what the exhibit explains from what they personally notice. Anyone for whom exposure to scent determines the visit should request the specific visitor arrangement; this review cannot certify a fragrance-free or medically suitable environment.

Plan admission and the last entry

The live Al Shindagha visitor page lists daily 10 am–8 pm and last entry 7 pm. The displayed adult price is AED 50. However, the page’s two-house wording differs from the brochure’s all-house coverage. Match the ticket product to Perfume House and any second stop before paying, rather than adding a separate AED 50 per pavilion or assuming every building is included.

Two visitors charged the displayed adult rate would total AED 100 for that product, excluding travel and a separately priced programme. Child and student eligibility should come from its current terms. Begin with the museum visitor information point to decide the order of houses. Dubai Culture’s published contact is 80033222; no workshop or booking has been arranged by this desk review.
