Visit Center of Khor Kalba Mangrove Reserve
About Visit Center of Khor Kalba Mangrove Reserve
Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre is an ecotourism centre in Kalba on Sharjah's east coast, managed by the Environment and Protected Areas Authority of Sharjah. It is located in the middle of an old stand of mangroves which, according to Visit Sharjah, forms the oldest mangrove forest in the Emirates, with trees reaching up to 8 metres in height. Visitors can take an outdoor tour through the mangrove area and use indoor viewing spaces inside the centre. The site is known for coastal birds, including the rare Arabian collared kingfisher, and for marine life such as crabs, green turtles, fish and small marine organisms. The centre is one of several nature and wildlife facilities around Khor Kalba, alongside the Kalba Birds of Prey Centre and the Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre. Opening hours and entry fees should be confirmed with the authority before visiting.
